Posted on: March 16th, 2026 by admin

23 April 2026 at 7.30 pm in St Annes Library. This is an open and free event– all are welcome.

We are holding our Annual General Meeting in the Library on Thursday 23 April at 7.30 pm. The Agenda can be downloaded/printed here; the minutes of the 2025 AGM can be downloaded/printed by clicking here. Nominations are are invited for the following: Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Membership Secretary. Please contact info@fosal.org.uk for further information

The meeting will be very short and will be followed by refreshments and a talk, ‘The Charm of Lancashire – Revisited’ by local historian Jennifer Ray. Jennifer said: “I purchased a second-hand book that had been given as a Christmas gift in 1929 titled, ‘The Charm of Lancashire.’ I have revisited many of the northern sites mentioned in the book to see if they remain charming. With historic postcards, a few poems and loads of recent photographs, this highly illustrated talk looks back to the historic county of Lancashire’s northern reaches. Just how much our county would that 1929 author recognise now?”

The event will also provide an opportunity for FOSAL members to renew their annual membership (still only £5 pa) and for new members to join.

Thanks to all who came along – we had a maximum audience, who joined in with the choruses and enjoyed the variety of music offered. A special thanks to the very talented Sandgrown Collective who entertained us with a mix of songs and instrumentals. We look forward to you visiting us again.
