The meeting will be very short and will be followed by refreshments and a talk, ‘The Charm of Lancashire – Revisited’ by local historian Jennifer Ray. Jennifer said: “I purchased a second-hand book that had been given as a Christmas gift in 1929 titled, ‘The Charm of Lancashire.’ I have revisited many of the northern sites mentioned in the book to see if they remain charming. With historic postcards, a few poems and loads of recent photographs, this highly illustrated talk looks back to the historic county of Lancashire’s northern reaches. Just how much our county would that 1929 author recognise now?”
The event will also provide an opportunity for FOSAL members to renew their annual membership (still only £5 pa) and for new members to join.
